simple ~ beautiful

A recent post on the Strobist got me thinking about my little used and  long forgotten reflector.  It's simple, inexpensive, and in some situations, makes for some beautiful light.

Got the dog and kids in the woods today. Sun, 70 and no bugs, couldn't be better.  Photo was taken with the Ray Flash - a ring light adapter than transforms your on camera flash into a super cool looking ring light.

This shot is another reason why you should have a fast, fixed focal length lens in your camera bag.

A good photographic tip is that if your photos are less than interesting... get closer.  While test driving a new lens I'm taking my own advice in this shot.
