⚠️ photo nerd post ⚠️ I love shallow depth of field. I’d imagine 95% of all the topside images I’ve ever taken have been with the lens wide open. Problem is, it’s totally different down here. In this shot I tried to shoot as shallow as I could, but even at ISO at 100, I couldn’t open the lens past f/6.3 without exceeding the 1/160sec. sync speed of my Sony. So rather than dealing with ND filters, new lenses and ports, I’ve been experimenting with Photoshop’s recently updated AI powered blur tool. It creates a depth map blur simulating the look of a fast lens. Far from perfect, but gets me closer to the ultra shallow look I love.
